Federal Minister for Information and Broadcast Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday said the PTI government is not facing any challenge as political careers of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari have come to an end. Talking to the media after speaking at a seminar, minister said of the duo, one is serving his jail term and the other would be following him soon, and they would not be given any National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) (safe passage).
Responding to a question, Fawad said leaders of PML-N and PPP are heading towards the end of their political careers, the former rulers had no interest in the country but they only made their assets.
While criticizing the former prime minister, Chaudhry said Nawaz's trial was strange as he went to London during it as well and his younger brother Shahbaz Sharif is in prison on paper but is living in his house as chairman Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly. Shahbaz Sharif is now asking NAB and public prosecutor to appear before him;' these people have made National Accountability Bureau bend to their will, he added.
He said PTI government has laid the foundation of a stable and prosperous Pakistan. "Prime Minister Imran Khan's vision expands beyond political arena to encompass social, economic and other sectors, he is working to create a society based on the pattern of Madina State where justice, tolerance and merit prevails," he said.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is introducing a calendar for the country's mega events, while an agreement is being worked out to ease visa restrictions for residents of 66 countries, information minister said.
Chaudhry went on to say that PTI government is working to raise the positive image of Pakistan in the comity of nations, adding that the tradition of festivals in Punjab will be revived as it is identity of the province.
