A flood warning cell in Peshawar on Saturday reported that there is a medium level flood in River Kabul at Nowshera and Warsak. In Nowshera, water flow was recorded at 102800 cusecs while water flow was measured at 54,071 cusecs near Warsak. The rise in the water levels made more homes near the riverbanks susceptible to being inundated and the locals have been warned to move to safer areas.
There is a medium level flood in River Kabul at Adezai as well where water flow is 48,464 cusecs. River Panjkora at Dir, River Swat at Khwaza Khela and Charsadda Road, River Shah Alam at Takhtabad and River Naguman near Charsadda Road are in low flood. Rest of the rivers in the province are flowing normal.
Meanwhile, a number of houses have been damaged due to heavy rains in Mardan and Swabi districts. The rains also damaged standing crops and washed away several cattle heads. However, no human loss has been reported from the areas. PDMA has also issued flood warning in DIG Khan, Bannu and Hazara and alerted the locals to remain vigilant.
