Rejecting the federal government adhoc-relief for government employees in the annual budget, workers of the All Government Employees Co-ordination Council (AGECC), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Friday staged a protest demonstration here on main Saddar road outside press club.
The protesting employees led by the provincial Chairman of the Co-ordination Council, Muzammil Tarnabi, general secretary Gohar Taj, organiser Siraj Barki, were holding placards and banner inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands rejecting the 10 percent adhoc relief for government employees in annual budget. They also raised their full-throated slogans in favour of their demands and against the government. The protesting employees termed the federal budget as anti-labourer and against the poor people.
In the protest demonstration the Wapda Hydro Union workers, Paramedical Association, All Teachers' Association and office bearers of APCA and other employees associations were led by Mustajab Mazdoryar, Syed Muhammad Shah and others. The protesting leaders strongly criticised the federal government for failing to give relief to government employees and poor segment of society.
They added the incumbent PML-N led federal government disappointed to government, semi-government and labour class instead of extending any relief. In the existing price-rocketing, they said that announcing mere 10 percent adhoc relief to government employees was not more than a joke, and urged the government to meet the charter of demands of the AGECC, merge adhoc relief in the basic pay and ensure uniform allowances to employees across the country.
