KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 264,237 tonnes of cargo comprising 259,131 tonnes of import cargo and 105,106 tonnes of export cargo during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours.

The total import cargo of 259,131 comprised of 116,475 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 44,944 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 22,617 tonnes of Wheat, 6,039 tonnes of Soya Bean Seed and 69,056 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 105,106 tonnes comprised of 66,837 tonnes of containerized cargo, 700 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 32,485 tonnes of Clinkers, 189 tonnes of Rice, 3,695 of Soda Ash, 1,200 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.

As many as, 10836 containers comprising of 5725 containers import and 5111 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 1011 of 20’s and 2357 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 00 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 658 of 20’s and 630 of 40’s loaded containers while 669 of 20’s and 1262 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours on Monday.

Nearly, 15 ships namely, Ital Lirica, Pan Daisy, Xin Rui Hai, Xin Chang Shu, CP Shenzhen, MT Lahore, Berlin Express, AS Flora, Msc Eyra, Cma Cgm Jamaica, Xin Shanghai, YM Express, Ellie, Izumo, PK Phoenix have berth at Karachi Port.

About 07 ships namely, Viking Emerald, Stolt Sypress, MH Langoey, Clemens Schulte, Royal Jade, Hilda, AS Flora, Berlin Express, Ital Lirica, Cielo Di Cagliari, X-Press Anglesey, Ionic United and EZ Fortuna have sailed out from Karachi Port.

Some 09 cargoes, namely BW Yarra, MT Karachi, MSC Malin, Zagori, Prague Express, Jolly Quarzo, TS Mumbai, Daitong I and Bison Express were expected to arrive at the port.

PORT QASIM

PQA berths were engaged by ten ships during the last 24 hours, out of them, two ships, Container vessel ‘Lotus-A’ and edible oil carrier ‘Bunga Lavender’ left the port on Monday morning, while two more ships, Flag Zannis and Jiu Hua Hai are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.

A cargo volume of 152,330 tonnes, comprising 143,168 tonnes imports cargo and 9,162 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 4,144 Containers (3,77801 TEUs Imports and 374 TEUs export) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

There are 10 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them, five ships MSC Pina, Maersk Brooklyn, GC Baryl, Chemroad Quest and Al-Khor carrying Containers, Palm oil, Chemicals and Natural gas are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT, EVTL and EETL on Monday, 31st January, while three more Container ships MSC Sky-II, Maersk Detroit and Julie are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday, 1st Febtruary-2022.
