imagePakistan all-rounder and former Pakistan T20 skipper Shahid Afridi has shown his support for Mohammad Amir to deliver in the upcoming Test series between Pakistan and England and slammed the British media for “putting undue pressure” on the seamer.

Shahid Afridi said that British media is “putting undue pressure” on the seamer. He backed Amir and urged him to stay strong in England for upcoming series.

In an official account Twitter, Afridi said,

However, Mohammad Amir will have a lot of support of his Pakistan team-mates when he takes on England at Lord's this week. As per reports, former England players, in interviews and columns to the British media, have questioned Amir’s return. Most hard-hitting statements have come from Kevin Pietersen and Graeme Swann.

Afridi is currently playing for Hampshire in England’s domestic T20 tournament whereas on April 3, he resigned as Pakistan’s T20I captain after Pakistan’s poor performance in the Asia Cup. However, Afridi said he will continue to play for Pakistan in limited over cricket as he is fit as compare to several other players.
