Senate chairman calls on Vietnamese president

Chairman Senate Muhammadmian Soomro called on President of Vietnam Tran Duc Luong here on Thursday.
During the meeting, the Chairman Senate said the recent visit of President Tran Duc Luong to Pakistan would further promote excellent and brotherly relations between the two countries.
Referring to the signing of agreements between the two countries on Thursday, he hoped that those agreements would further promote the economic and trade relations between the two countries.
Explaining the salient features of democratic process in Pakistan, the Senate Chairman said the parliament would play effective role in promoting the relations between Pakistan and Vietnam.
He however, suggested enhancing the exchange of parliamentary delegations between the two countries.
Commenting on 30 years of good relations between Pakistan and Vietnam, the Chairman Senate said that Pakistan was keen to further promote those ties with the direct link between the parliamentarians of both the countries.
Referring to large number of businessmen accompanying the delegation, Soomro said it would be helpful in promoting the economic relations between Pakistan and Vietnam.
President of Vietnam Tran Duc Luong conveyed greetings from the President of National Assembly of Vietnam.
The visiting President appreciated and thanked for providing him warm welcome during the visit.
He said there was a wide scope of cooperation between the two countries in various fields including commerce, transportation, civil aviation, maritime transport, education and health sectors.
