imageISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab has said that government incentives announced in the budget 2016-17 are aimed at changing the economic condition of the farmers.

Talking to a private news channel, he said that agriculture is the backbone of our country. He said, "If farmer is prosperous, the country is prosperous."

He said incentives in the budget would help enhance agricultural products.

More and more industries are being set up in Pakistan which will give boost to our industrial development, he stated.

To a question, he said that CPEC is a good project for our economic development and prosperity. This project will benefit not only Pakistan and China, but also other countries of the region, he said.

He said, "We need to strengthen our tax collection culture to help boost the economy."

Minister said that the government has also announced Ramadan Package to serve the people hailing from poor segment of society. Under the package, people will get essential commodities at reduced rates during the holy month of Ramadan, he said.

He said government has fulfilled its duty and now it is job of departments concerned to implement the decisions.
