imageISLAMABAD: The whole electricity system of the Parliament would be shifted to solar system within one year.

"Parliament of Pakistan would be the first in the world which will be shifted to solar system" said an official of National Assembly while talking to APP.

Memorandum of Understanding with China had already been signed. China would provide grant for the implementation of the project, he added.

He said that for the first time energy audit of the Parliament was conducted. Bill of electricity and gas had also been decreased due to steps taken by the administration, he added.

He said it was also planned that all the research material would be available on the screens of parliamentarians in National Assembly.

Paperless environment would be introduced in the National Assembly, he added. He said expenditures of the National Assembly had also been reduced.
