BANGKOK: Shares in Thai Oil Pcl, Thailand's top oil refiner, rose more than 3 percent on Monday on expectations the Thai oil refinery sector would benefit from tight supply after the quake in Japan.
At 0305 GMT, Thai Oil shares were up 2.6 percent at 79.75 baht after rising as high as 80.50 baht, while the broad index was 0.2 percent higher.
Analysts said the sector should benefit from rising refining margins and product spread as supply was tight after several refiners in Japan were closed after Friday's earthquake.
