ISLAMABAD: A peaceful protest rally under the patronage of All Pakistan Minorities Alliance (APMA) was taken out here on Saturday to condemn the brutal murder of Minister for Minorities Affairs Shahbaz Bhatti.

The pastors of different churches of twin cities, Rawalpindi and Islamabad including Yaqoob Bhatti, Anwar Pitras and Former Federal Minister Julius Salik led the rally.

Addressing on the occasion, J. Salik said, "We are fighting against social and political injustice and our struggle is also for the stability of the country."

A large number of Christians participated in the rally. They were holding banners and placards inscribed slogans condemning the murder of Shahbaz Bhatti and demanding the arrest of the killers.

They demanded that the killers of Shahbaz Bhatti be arrested immediately and brought them to justice.

The Pastors while addressing the rally said that Shahbaz Bhatti was a patriotic and a true representative of the minorities living in Pakistan, adding, his murder is not only a great loss to Christian community but also loss to this country.

The rally was taken out from National Press Club and ended peacefully at China Chowk.
