imageThe Rio Olympics finally ended on Sunday with a breathtaking ceremony, with all the pomp and glory and jaw dropping display of fireworks, the USA maintained its hegemony on the top with most medals in the bucket and the Great Britain becoming the new sports superpower.

It was Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who stole the show with one of the finest stage trick ever, becoming Super Mario form the popular game series.

At the handover ceremony, a part during the closing ceremony in which the current host nation in this case, Brazil Rio de Janeiro passes the Olympic torch to the next city to host the upcoming Olympics, the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe showed up as Super Mario.

The reserved and soft spoken Abe emerged from a green warp pipe similar to the commonly seen in Mario, along with an animated presentation that tied into his appearance, shown on the screens in the stadium.

The Olympics 2020 is to be held in Tokyo, and by looking at Abe’s cameo one could expect Tokyo 2020 to be a hell of a treat.
