PESHAWAR: Like other parts of the Globe “World Refugee day” was observed here Thursday at Peshawar Museum where study tour to Gandhara museum was arranged for Afghan refugee children.

The event was organized by SHARP in collaboration with CDU and UNHCR. The refugee children enjoyed seeing the artifacts and explored the museum.

According to UNHCR Pakistan is the second largest hosting country in the world by hosting 1.4 million Afghan refugees. The largest hosting country is Turkey which is hosting 3.7 million refugees.

It further said that 25 people were forced to flee their homes away ever minute in year 2018 while 70.8 million were forcibly displaced worldwide as a result of persecution, conflict, violence and human rights’ violations during the year.
