New Islamabad airport to be functional from Friday

ISLAMABAD: An Aviation Division spokesman rejected on Monday the news published in a section of the press regarding the delay in operationalization of new Islamabad International Airport.

In a statement, the spokesman said that preparations to make the airport for the operational had already been completed and it would be fully functional from April 20.

He further said that no such instructions, as claimed in the report, were passed regarding the delay.

The new Islamabad airport is the first largest greenfield airport of the country, he said, adding that it would provide modern facilities to the passengers.
