HAFIZABAD: State Minister for Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Saira Afzal Tarar said on Monday that economic self-reliance and social betterment could not be achieved without the promotion of education in the country.
Addressing a seminar held here under the auspices of ASAR (NGO) to review Annual Education Report and create awareness regarding the importance of education, she said that federal and provincial governments with the collaboration of NGOs was providing all possible facilities in the educational institutions for the promotion of education.
She said that Chief Minister Punjab was providing record funds for ensuring better education and health facilities to the people in the province. She further said that according to the roadmap of the CM, improvements were being made in the academic and co-curricular activities.
She urged the teachers to perform their duties with commitment, focus on the character building of students and ensure punctuality. She stressed the need for further improvement in the standard of education keeping in view the Annual Education Report.
Prominent among others who addressed the Seminar included Huma Zia Coordinator ASAR, District Monitoring Officer Adnan Irshad Cheema, District Officer Secondary Rai Irshad, Chairman Muthidda Mahaz Asataza Ch. Riaz Ahmad.
