ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Belarus on Friday signed various agreements and Memoranda of Understanding for bilateral cooperation in the fields of education, technology, trade and defense production.
The agreements were signed in a ceremony held at the Prime Minister's House.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko witnessed the agreement signing ceremony held after their one-on-one meeting and the delegation level talks.
Both the countries signed an Islamabad Declaration on Belarus-Pakistan Partnership and a treaty on mutual legal assistance in civil and commercial matters.
The two sides signed MoUs for cooperation between Belarus Telegraph Agency and the Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation, and between Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Right of Pakistan and the Ministry of Justice Belarus.
Both the sides signed an agreement for cooperation in the field of culture. The agreement was signed between Ministry of Culture of Belarus and the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage.
An agreement between the governments of Belarus and Pakistan on cooperation in the field of information and communications was also signed.
Pakistan and Belarus inked an MoU for cooperation in
agricultural field signed between the Belarus' Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Pakistan's Ministry of National Food Security and Research.
Both the countries inked MoUs for bilateral cooperation in defense production and establishment of a Bilateral Consultation Mechanism between the ministries of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Belarus.
The two sides also signed an agreement for cooperation between the government of Pakistan and Belarus for cooperation in science and technology.
Pakistan and Belarus signed an agreement between the ministries of education of Belarus and Pakistan on cooperation in the field of education. Another agreement of cooperation was signed between Quaid-e-Azam University and Belaruisan State University. National Library of Belarus and the National Library of Pakistan also signed an agreement for cooperation.
The two sides signed an MoU on scientific cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and Pakistan Academy of Sciences.
Two agreements on cooperation were signed between Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and for the establishment of joint business council.
Both the countries also signed an agreement on interregional cooperation between Punjab Government and Mogilev Regional Executive Committee of Belarus.
Pakistan and Belarus signed MoUs for cooperation between the State Institution National Agency of Investment and Privatization of Belarus and the Board of Investment of Pakistan, and Ministry of Industries and Production of Pakistan and Belarusian Ministry of Industry.
The two countries also inked an agreement for cooperation between National State TV and Radio Company of Belarus and Pakistan Television Corporation.
