NEPRA has accepted its mistake regarding calculations

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Water and Power Tasneem Ahmad Qureshi informed the National Assembly that the issue emerged due to calculation mistakes of NEPRA in 2009 and NEPRA has accepted the mistake.

He informed the house, while replying to a call attention notice moved by Shaikh Salahuddin and others regarding overcharging the consumers in monthly electricity bills for over three years in Karachi.

He said the impact of this mistake was borne by the government and it did not affect the consumers.

He said the issue is between the government and Karachi Electric Supply Company and it will be resolved through legal negotiations.
