PESHAWAR: As many as 716,638 children under five years of age residing in Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) will be immunized against polio disease under a three-day polio eradication campaign started here on Monday.
Secretary Social Sectors FATA Dr Aftab Akbar Durrani presiding over polio inauguration ceremony held here at FATA secretariat said that a total 2,567 teams and 584 area incharges have been deputed in field for door to door vaccination of 716,638 children throughout the FATA.
He directed all the concerned officials to ensure vaccination of all the children under the age of five in FATA to make the campaign successful.
He requested the parents of children under five years of age to get their children vaccinated against polio so that the disease could be eradicated from the area.
