KARACHI: One of the most popular applications ever downloaded “Angry Birds” will now be turning into a movie for its fans.

 

The game has been a chart-topping download around the world, but now the game's developer Rovio Entertainment is eyeing towards making an official Angry Birds movie to be filmed in 3D for the big screen.

 

According to media sources, Rovio announced that John Cohen of “Despicable Me” fame will produce the movie which sees a group of birds with different skills, fighting off an evil army of green pigs who have stolen their eggs.

 

Besides that, the former Chairman of Marvel Studios and Producer of Iron Man David Maisel, will be the Executive Producer of Angry Birds’ movie.

 

To date, the game has generated multiple editions including Angry Birds Star Wars, toys, books, t-shirts, animations and even a tie-in with one studio film, Rio.

 

The movie will hit theaters in summer 2016.
