LONDON: Europe's main stock markets rose at the start of trading on Thursday as traders looked ahead to the start of an EU summit and digested news of the Israel-Gaza truce.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of top companies gained 0.32 percent to 5,770.26 points, Frankfurt's DAX 30 climbed 0.35 percent to 7,210.46 points and in Paris the CAC 40 won 0.34 percent to 3,489.34.
