Power shortfall eases to 2,000 MW

ISLAMABAD: The power shortfall in the country on Thursday eased to 2,000 MW as the total generation was recorded 10,600 MW against the demand of 12,600 MW during the last 24 hours.

According to the report on daily power generation and load-management position, the hydel generation stood at 4,081 MW, WAPDA thermal 1,274 MW and IPPs 5,271 MW.

Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited has curtailed gas to Saphire, Halmore and SAIF and Orient power plants resulting reduced generation. by 800 MW.

Hubco Unit No.3 (300 MW), FKPCL Complex (151 MW) on scheduled outage while AES Lalpir (350 MW), AES Pak Gen (350 MW) and Saba (125 MW) were are on forced outage.
