LAHORE: Ahsan Bashir has taken over the charge as central Chairman of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association held Saturday.
He has served twice as APTMA Punjab Chairman before assuming new responsibilities.
Meanwhile, all three regional chairmen, including Shahzad Ali Khan for Punjab, Yasin Siddik for Sindh and Khalid Quli Khan for Khyber Pakhtunkha took charge of their respective offices simultaneously.
Similarly, the central as well as regional committee also replaced the outgoing ones in the AGM.
All the three zones were interconnected through video-conferencing during the AGM.
It may be noted that the Gohar Ejaz Group has secured all the three regional offices as well as the Central Managing Committee (CMC) for third consecutive year.
On this occasion, the unopposed-elected central Chairman Ahsan Bashir set a very vibrant and full of activities agenda for his team ahead.
Earlier, Punjab APTMA Chairman Shahzad Ali Khan said that potential of the industry needs to be consolidated and further enhanced.
In the wake of opening up of bilateral trade and investment with India, he said, interaction with Indian textile millers is expected to increase.
