ISLAMABAD: The power shortfall in the country on Thursday reached to 2,900 MW as the total generation was recorded 11,500 MW against the demand of 14,400 MW during the last 24 hours.
According to report on daily power generation and load-management position, the hydel generation stood at 5,050 MW, WAPDA thermal 980 MW and IPPs 5,470 MW.
Qadir Pur Gas Field was supplying only 57 MMCFD gas to Orinet, Saphire and SAIF power plants due to flooding of the field.
Power generation from Guddu power plant has also been reduced to 495 MW against 1100 MW due to heavy rain water accumulation at the plant.
Similarly, Mangla generation stood at only 200 MW against the full capacity of 1150 MW due to less water releases by Indus River System Authority.
