ISLAMABAD: The government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has asked the federal government through Energy Conference to end unscheduled load shedding and give the autonomy in production of energy and resources to provinces.
Talking to a private news channel, Senator Afrasayab Khattak said, "The system of distribution and production of electricity should be given to provinces... load shedding should be based on the consumption of electricity in the provinces. Punjab is suggesting equal load shedding. But Punjab has heavy consumption of electricity and equal load shedding will be only beneficial to it while this will be disastrous to Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa."
Mian Iftikhar said a legal way would be found to put pressure on federal government for the solution of power crisis and Assembly session would be called on the recommendations of the Energy Conference.
He added that they would coordinate with the federal government as per parliamentary procedure in the light of recommendations of the conference to resolve the issue.
