Activities of Karachi Port

The Karachi Port handled 48,298 tonnes of cargo comprising 32,938 tonnes of import cargo and 15,360 tonnes of export cargo including 1,970 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday.

The Karachi Port handled 48,298 tonnes of cargo comprising 32,938 tonnes of import cargo and 15,360 tonnes of export cargo including 1,970 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargos of 32,938 tonnes comprised of nil tonnes of containerised cargo; 542 tonnes of general cargo; 4,596 tonnes of bulk cargo and 27,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 15,360 tonnes comprised of 15,360 tonnes of bulk cargo.
As many as 1,970 containers comprising of nil containers of import and 1,970 containers of export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of exported containers shows 985 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely APL Chongqing, Coral Star, SC Corpio and Athos carrying containers, chemical and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were three vessels carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
