PCB to announce central contracts tomorrow

• It must be noted here that current contracts will expire on June 30 and new contracts will come into effect from July 1.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will announce central contracts for season 2020-21 tomorrow (Wednesday).

According to the PCB, head coach and the chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq has submitted his recommendations to the chairman Ehsan Mani for approval. As many as 19 to 20 players will get the contracts for 2020-2021.

It must be noted here that current contracts will expire on June 30 and new contracts will come into effect from July 1.

As per reports, Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz are expected to lose the contracts, while former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed may be demoted to B category. Azhar Ali, who is Pakistan Test skipper, is expected to replace the wicketkeeper in A category.

Young pacers including Mohammad Musa, Mohammad Husnain, and Naseem Shah will also get the contracts for the first time.
