The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has yet not made any final decision regarding alleged cases against the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leaders, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, and nor it has issued any orders in this regard.

According to a statement issued by the NAB spokesman, chairman NAB has neither taken any final decision with respect to alleged cases against Chaudhry brothers nor issued any order in this regard.

The routine corruption inquiries continue in all old cases in accordance with the law as these inquiries cannot be used to decorate cupboards indefinitely.

The statement says that it is very shocking that a never-ending propaganda has been started against the NAB based on the alleged cases of the Chaudhry brothers.

It says that the NAB is a national anti-corruption institution and it does not belong to any political party, group or individual but the NAB officers belonged only to the state of Pakistan.

Therefore, media is requested to avoid speculations and get the NAB version before publishing any news regarding the bureau.

Meanwhile, the PML-Q leaders approached the Lahore High Court (LHC) and filed a petition in the court, alleging that the NAB was an "institution of political engineering" and raised questions on its investigative authority.

In addition, the plea requested the court to declare the reopening of an almost two-decade-old case by the authority as illegal.
