Pakistan pacer Rumman Raees, who put his cricket gear for auction, has raised over a million rupees for coronavirus victims.

The 28-year-old had put up his debut ODI cap, which he wore during Pakistan’s successful Champions Trophy campaign, along with his jersey, cricket bat and the two-starred Islamabad United shirt. The online auction started from April 16 to 19th.

Sharing results of auction on his social accounts, he thanked everyone who took part in this cause and revealed that his team has raised RS100,5000.

“I would like to thank all of you for amazing response. The amount of Islamabad United shirt is doubled because the franchise will donate amount equal to the highest bid,” wrote Rumman.

“Pakistan Shirt is available for re-auction as the highest bidder has requested for that after making his payment, a great gesture from him,” he added.

“Further Mudassir Farooq from Jammu and Kashmir also decided to donate 40,000 PKR as his bid was surpassed. 500,000 for Bat were given by Nadeem Omar Bhai and he requested to carry on with the auction so that 2nd highest bidder will be getting the bat with his bid.”

While sharing his views, he said that the amount raised from the auction will be spent on the people affected by the lockdown due to coronavirus.

"The amount raised from the auction will be spend on the people suffering from lockdown," said the Karachi native pacer. “With Ramadan is just around the corner, we are aiming to distribute iftar and sehri to the people during these times too," he added.
