KWSB takes steps to meet Covid-19 challenge

Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB) has taken some effective and meaningful measures in the midst of coronavirus spread on a war footing to reduce water and sewerage complaints in the city of teeming millions.

Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB) has taken some effective and meaningful measures in the midst of coronavirus spread on a war footing to reduce water and sewerage complaints in the city of teeming millions.
Moreover, the KW&SB has deposited Rs 22.2 million in the Chief Minister's Coronavirus Relief Fund. Managing Director of KW&SB Asad Ullah Khan has been close vigilance to reduce complaints and ensure proper supply of water and disposal of sewerage. He has issued directives to officials of KW&SB for the betterment of services.
He has also directed all concerned officials for more rapid response to complaints during the ongoing lockdown in the city. The KW&SB has introduced some unique and helpful services against the Covid-19.
The KW&SB, with close coordination of the provincial Minister of Local Government, has taken several steps to maintain water supply in the city. Soon after the outbreak of coronavirus, the managing director issued directives to officials of KW&SB for improving overall system and ordered more rapid response to complaints that are received in various centres during the lockdown in the city.
KW&SB offices remain open while operational staff, including XENs and SE, are on ground 24/7 to address public complaints while respective chief engineers are monitoring performance. It is heartening to note that KW&SB trade unions are supporting administration of KW&SB. Public and municipal representatives have praised KW&SB on its remarkable performance.
