KARACHI: Brisk shipping activity has been observed at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where five ships carrying containers, chemical, coal, furnace oil and edible oil was allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, IOCB Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on Monday.
Meanwhile three more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and edible oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Beth occupancy was 55% at the Port Qasim on Tuesday where total number of six ships namely MV Lotus, Luilang Wisdom, MV. Argent Daisy, Ever Shining, Athina-M and Donga Calypso are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, chemicals, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 86,008 tonnes, comprising 68,182 tonnes imports and 17,862 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,103 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
