52-year-old tested positive making it Pakistan’s first coronavirus case of local transmission

The Sindh Health Department announced on Friday another confirmed case of the coronavirus.

The patient is a 52-year-old who returned from Islamabad two days ago. The department further said that the patient was tested positive on Friday.

"This brings the total number of cases to 15 in Sindh out of which 13 are in stable condition & 2 have been discharged," Sindh Health Department added.

This latest case is the first case in Pakistan as the patient has had no travel history.

 

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has decided to keep educational institutions across the province closed until May 31. Sindh Information Minister Saeed Ghani said that matric examinations for ninth and 10th grade, which were to start on March 16 have also been suspended.
