Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) President Sardar Masood Khan said on Monday that the plight of Kashmiris has become pathetic and their lands are being handed over to the Indian investors and India is occupying Kashmiris' land like Israel did to Palestinians. However, he added in the same breath that the spirit of Kashmiris is unwavering despite the arrests of their freedom fighters.
He further pointed out that the Indian forces were abducting Kashmiri youngsters to torture them to change their mindset. On the other hand, he said, Kashmiris are committed to their cause and ready to sacrifice themselves for it.
He said the Indian forces have demolished valuable standing crops in the valley while the extremist Hindu organizations were involved in murdering of Kashmiris and intimidating them by and large. The Kashmiri leadership is behind the bars and facing atrocities in the torture cells. He said Kashmiris' slogan 'Hum Lay Kay Rahain Gay Azadi' has become popular throughout India.
He applauded the Pakistan government for propagating the Kashmir issue, saying that the whole world has become aware of the Indian atrocities. The international media and the parliaments of many countries have supported the cause of Kashmiris and people around the globe are aware of their hardships today, he said, and added that the UN Security Council has taken up the issue thrice during the last six months.
He said the prevailing situation in Pakistan has diverted world attention from the Kashmir issue therefore media should play its role in highlighting this issue the world over.
He said the Indian government was trying to deceive the world by erecting millions of rupees wall to hide the filth depots in Ahmedabad during the visit of the US President. He lamented that President Trump has adopted a compromising stance after offering mediation over the Kashmir issue and saying that he would mediate only when India is ready for it. However, India is not ready for it while enjoying good relations with the US but still Trump could not reflect the whole US opinion over the Kashmir issue, he added.
He said President Trump should also visit Pakistan. He said India was trying to launch war with Pakistan over the issue but we will prefer a political and diplomatic solution. He urged the media to focus on the Kashmir issue and keep highlighting it till the world community steps forward to resolve it.
