Donald Trump said on Monday that the United States and Pakistan have very good relations and are beginning to see signs of big progress with it.

Addressing the huge gathering at Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad, India, the US president said that the US is working with Pakistan to crack down on terror issues on the border. "We have great relations with Pakistan and with these relations we hope we will be able to reduce tensions between the countries," Trump said.

He further said that the US and India are committed to working together to stop terrorists and fight their ideology.  "For this reason, since taking office, my administration is working in a very positive way with Pakistan to crack down on terrorist organisations and militants that operate on the Pakistani border," Trump said.

The US president along with First Lady Melania Trump arrived on Monday in India on a two-day official visit. In their talks in Delhi on Tuesday, Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are expected to focus on a wide range of bilateral and regional issues including trade, defence and security.
