SNGPL to refund millions of rupees to gas consumers

Coming as a major relief for gas consumers, the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) has decided to refund Rs513 million to its consumers.

The SNGPL action comes after Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed disapproval for putting burden on gas consumers and and ordered to provide immediate relief to the gas consumers, and directed the authorities concerned to refund the amount charged from natural gas consumers through inflated bills.

The authorities carried out inspection of available gas pressure and bills received to customers. The supplied gas pressure was found to be below billing pressure in different areas.

As per details SNGPL has refunded Rs50mn to consumers for February, March 2019.

The Prime Minister has directed the authorities to issue forthcoming gas bill on the basis of real gas pressure, and has also directed to keep a close watch on the supply and demand situation in different areas.
