All administrative secretaries would have to work to serve public in real sense and no laxity would be tolerated in this regard now. Secretaries should immediately remove all corrupt and incompetent officers and officials from their posts by following the SOPs under the internal accountability mechanism so that governance in the province could be improved and people could be provided relief.
This was stated by Chief Secretary Punjab Azam Suleman Khan while presiding over a high-level meeting of all administrative secretaries at Civil Secretariat.
The Chief Secretary directed the officers to start paperless working in their offices to ensure transparency and save money and time, saying that for this purpose service of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) should be hired to get benefited from latest technology. He asked the administrative secretaries to come out in the field from their offices and enhance interaction with general public. All officers, especially secretaries of Health, Education, Agriculture, and Food departments, must fix at least 30 minutes in morning and evening to meet people so that public complaints could be addressed timely.
