KARACHI: Brisk shipping activity was observed at the Port during the last 24 hours where five ships carrying containers, bitumen and edible oil were allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on Tuesday, a port statement said Wednesday.
Meanwhile two more ships scheduled to load/ offload containers and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 85 percent at the Port on Wednesday when total number of nine ships namely MV. Jenny, Al Noof, Sealand Michigan, MV. Elicia, MV Hawk, Sidra Qatar, Mercy Wisdom, Argent Freesia and Argent Iris are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, cement, wheat, bitumen, steel coil, chemical and edible oil respectively.
A cargo volume of 105686 tonnes, comprising 75405 tonnes imports and 30281 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 3534 containers (boxes) was handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.
