KARACHI: Brisk shipping activity has been observed at the Port during last 24 hours, where five ships carrying containers, steel coil and chemical were allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal on Monday, April 23.
Meanwhile five more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and edible on also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 85 percent at the Port on Tuesday where total number of nine ships namely MV. ER Canberra, Bux Hill, Safmarine Ngami, MV. Elicia, Mercy Wisdom, MV. Hawk, Argent Freesia, Four Island and Bunga Angsana are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, steel coil, chemical, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 132475 tonnes, comprising 100926 tonnes imports and 31549 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3026 containers (Boxes) was handle at the Port during last 24 hours.
