Vice chairman Pakistan Bar Council Syed Amjad Shah has strongly condemned the federal government for its inhuman and callous conduct of creating impediments in the process of proceedings abroad of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for his medical treatment

The statement issued by the secretary PBC on Thursday said that the three times prime minister intends to go abroad for his medical treatment as recommended by the government appointed medical board.

The decision of the federal government to remove the name of Nawaz Sharif from the Exit Control List subject to the condition that he should file a indemnity bond of billions of rupees is not only a mockery but also reflects the non-serious and inhuman attitude of the government disregarding the critical and very serious health condition of the former premier.

There is no justification, whatsoever, for asking to file a indemnity bond when the Islamabad High Court has already granted bail to Nawaz Sharif after filing surety bonds, on medical grounds in view of his serious health condition. Imposing of such an unjustified and illegal condition, in fact, amounts to negate and defy the order of the high court entailing the consequences of the contempt of court. The vice chairman, Pakistan Bar Council, has, therefore, demanded the government to remove the name of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif from the ECL forthwith without any condition, enabling him to proceed abroad for his medical treatment as early as possible.
