  • IHC granted interim bail to Nawaz in the Al-Azizia case on basis on medical grounds.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has contended how the Islamabad High Court (IHC) can ask the government's guarantee that nothing will happen to Nawaz Sharif when he himself cannot give guarantee of his own life.

He was addressing the gathering after laying the foundation stone of Baba Guru Nanak University in Nankana Sahib on Monday. The PM said he saw news that the IHC asked the government to give guarantee that nothing will happen to the former PM.

“I cannot give guarantee of my life tomorrow then how can I give someone else's guarantee. In our religion Allah has said that life and death is in his hands. A human can only try,"the PM said.

He further said that the government has provided the best medical treatment to Sharif and even called doctors from Karachi. He said he even asked the CEO of Shaukat Khanum who is considered the top doctors to check on Sharif. He added that the government is trying its best.

On Saturday, a bench headed by IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani granted interim bail to Sharif in the Al-Azizia case. The IHC said that if something happens to Sharif during the bail, then the blame will be on NAB and the government.

The bench had also asked the government to give guarantee that nothing will happen to Sharif.
