The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), NABIF and Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized a seminar on SME financing. The seminar discussed in detail the financing problems and other implementation issues of SMEs. SBP Regional Head, Javed Bhatti, Muddassar Ali from SBP, LCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Chairman SME Committee LCCI & FPCCI Rehmat Ullah Javed spoke on the occasion.

SBP gave a comprehensive presentation of SBP friendly financial policies and SBP role to enhance loans to SMEs. Several incentives for SMEs were explained in detail, which were never in the knowledge of small entrepreneurs. At the same time banks do not like to share those incentives and possible routes of financing to SMEs. Banks also do not like to finance SMEs in the absence of so called required legislation.
