KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where two ships carrying containers and furnace oil were allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Terminals respectively on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Meanwhile four more ships scheduled to load/offload containers, chemicals and canola seeds also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 25 percent at the Port on Thursday where total number of three ships namely CGM. Wegner, MV. Belsize Park and MV. Omera Queen are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, chemical and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 38097 tannes comprising 29823 tonnes imports and 8274 tonnes exports was handle, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 963 containers (Boxes) at the Port during last 24 hours.
