  • Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in the third ODI to record their 92nd win.
  • Previously the record was held by Australia and India.

The return of international cricket to Pakistan just got a lot sweeter. The Men in Green not only managed to beat Sri Lanka 2-0 in the One Day Internationals (ODIs) but in doing so they also claimed the record of highest number of victories against any opponent in 50-overs cricket.

Pakistan cricket team defeated Sri Lanka in the third ODI of the historic home series on Wednesday, which was their 92nd victory against the Islanders, which is a world record.

Earlier, Australia had defeated New Zealand and India had beaten Sri Lanka in 91 matches each. The Australian team has won 91 of 137 matches against New Zealand, while the Indian team has won 91 of 159 matches against Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, Pakistan claimed their 92nd victory against the Lankans out of 155 matches. The Men in Green have faced defeat in 58 of those matches.

Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by five wickets in the third and final day-night international in Karachi on Wednesday, taking the three-match series 2-0. After winning the ODI series, Pakistan would now meet Sri Lanka in Lahore for a three-match T20I series.
