Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir impressed his teammates with a brilliant bowling display for Essex against Kent in the County Championship.

The speedster picked up three wickets for 30 runs in his spell of 17 overs, reducing Kent to 125 runs at the loss of six wickets on the first day of the four days match.

Kent's opening batsman Zak Crawley was the first to perish after getting bowled Mohammed Amir for 5 in the second over of the day.

Bell-Drummond who played well for his half-century from 99 deliveries chopped on to his stumps while trying to cut Amir. The Pakistani pacer then bowled Robinson with a superb in-swinger for his third wicket.

Earlier, it was learnt that the speedster has extended his short-term deal to cover Essex's last four T20 group games.

Amir, who has played in four of Essex's T20 Blast matches, has now been made available for the games with Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey and Kent.

“Mohammad agreed to play in this County Championship fixture before announcing his retirement from Test cricket,” said Essex head coach Anthony McGrath.

“We're really grateful that he has followed through on his promise given the circumstances. He'll give us the extra dimension as a left-armer and is a great replacement for Peter Siddle,” added McGrath.

Last month, Amir announced his retirement from Test cricket.
