Pakistan star Babar Azam crashes Somerset website

The arrival of Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam at the Vitality Blast 2019 has been a boon for the Somerset county, which has seen its website getting crashed thanks to Azam’s popularity.

As per ESPNcricinfo, the Somerset had to upgrade their club website's server capacity after their first game of the tournament. The win against Glamorgan was not streamed live as fans in Pakistan are eager to follow their star batsman's progress.

Furthermore, Somerset’s defeat against Sussex last week, in which Azam scored 83, grabbed over 1.5 million views on YouTube.

Azam, who was an integral part of Pakistan’s World Cup 2019 squad, managing to become the nation’s highest run-maker in the tournament has brought his fine form into the English Twenty20 tournament, and with 267 runs in six games is also among the leading scorer in the tournament.
