Pakistan’s Wahab Riaz likely to follow Amir’s footsteps of Test retirement

After the sudden retirement of fast bowler Mohammad Amir from Test cricketer, it seems that veteran speedster Wahab Riaz too is likely to quit the game’s longest format as well.

As per reports, Riaz has informed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani about his decision, however, he will make a formal announcement after his arrival back in Pakistan. At present Riaz is in Canada and is part of the ongoing GT20 league.

The retirement comes just days after Amir’s announcement to retire from Test cricket took the cricketing world by storm, with many including Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar expressing their dissatisfaction over the speedster’s decision to retire at the age of 27.

Riaz was an integral part of Pakistan’s World Cup squad and has represented Pakistan in 27 Tests and has clinched 83 wickets in the process as well.
