Nowadays Disney is all about live-action remakes of old classics. With the live-action version of ‘The Lion King’ coming to theatres next week, Disney has now released first teaser for ‘Mulan’.

Showing off a sweeping adventure flick set in China’s Han dynasty, the film will join the ranks of the studio’s other live-action efforts when it’s released next March. 'Mulan' has been Directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider) and stars Yifei Liu in the lead role.

Yifei plays Hua Mulan, the daughter of Hua Zhou (played by Tzi Ma), a strict war veteran. When he’s recalled to military service to fend off a Hun invasion, Mulan disguises herself as a man to take his place in the Imperial army.

The remake is based on the 1998 animated movie about a Chinese woman who disguises herself as a warrior to spare her father from joining the military. The original film grossed more than $300 million worldwide.

In a twist to the original film, the remake will feature some new characters while losing a few old favorites. Absent from the trailer is the animal duo dragon Mushu and cricket Cri-kee.
