KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where five ships carrying containers, cement, general cargo and wheat were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FAP Terminal respectively on Monday, March 12.
Meanwhile three more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 55 percent at the Port on Tuesday where total number of six ships namely MV. Safmarine Ngami, MV. Strilen, Sea Guild, MV. Hiba Al Nour-B, Wilma, MV. Mercy Wisdom and Liberty Eagle are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, edible oil, cement, general cargo and wheat respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 48,489 tonnes, comprising 14,995 tonnes imports and 33,494 tonnes exports was handle, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1763 containers (Boxes) at the Port during last 24 hours.
