Pakistani movie ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2’(JPNA 2), which was released last year, has crossed Rs 70 crore mark on box office beating a lifetime record of any Pakistani movie.

The film has been directed by Nadeem Baig and is a sequel to the 2015 film ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Ani’. It stars an ensemble cast comprising Humayun Saeed, Fahad Mustafa, Ahmed Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhry, Kubra Khan and Mawra Hocane in the lead roles. The film released on Eid ul-Adha on August 22, 2018.

Humayun Saeed, ecstatic about the success of the movie, thanked the fans being loyal to the JPNA brand and making it the highest grosser in Pakistan’s cinematic history.

Actress Mawra Hocane also shared her excitement on Twitter after achieving a big milestone.

The film is a joint venture of Salman Iqbal Films, Humayun Saeed and Shahzad Nasib’s Six Sigma Plus, and Jerjees Seja’s ARY Films. The news was also initially broke by Jerjees Seja, on his Instagram. The caption read, “News alert! The biggest blockbuster of all time #JPNA2 becomes the first ever Pakistani movie to cross Rs.70 Crores at the Global box office!”.

JPNA 2 was released last year on Eid but it was recently re-released in cinemas across nation after government banned Bollywood movies in Pakistan.
