ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has released Rs374 billion (55.41 percent) including Rs160.3 billion foreign aid for different development projects under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2018-19 against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 675 billion.

The government released a total of Rs153.6 billion (52.7 percent) including Rs25.24 billion foreign aid for development projects of various ministries, divisions and related departments out of Rs291.55 billion budgeted allocation.

The government has not released development funds so far for erstwhile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), which is in the process of merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K.P).

According to the latest data of PSDP 2018-19 released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform released a total of Rs158 billion (85 percent) including Rs120.2 billion foreign aid out of Rs185.2 billion budgeted allocation for various development projects of National Highway Authority (NHA) and Rs17 billion out of Rs28.065 billion budgeted allocation for development projects of the Pakistan Railways.

The government released Rs28.55 billion (36.4 percent) including Rs7.3 billion foreign aid out of Rs78 billion for development projects and schemes of Water Resources Division.

The PTI government released a total of Rs18.5 billon (59.8 percent)  including Rs88.6 million foreign aid out of Rs30.96 billion budgeted allocation for Higher Education Commission, Rs7.91 billion were released for the Interior Division, Rs6.33 billion for Communication Division (other than NHA) and Rs2.26 billion were released for Federal Education and Professional Training Division.

The government released Rs965.42 million including Rs344.51 million foreign aid for Information Technology and Telecom Division out of Rs1.45 billion budgeted allocation, Rs18.37 billion including Rs718.67 million foreign aid for States and Frontier Region Division, Rs11.89 billion including Rs11.8 billion foreign aid out of Rs33.37 billion for development projects of Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) and Rs2.06 billion for the development projects of Housing and Works Division.

The government released Rs2.73 billion out of Rs12.78 billion budgeted allocation for the development projects of the National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Division, Rs2 billion for Planning, Development and Reforms and Rs12.6 million for Textile Industry Division.

The government released Rs407.3 million for the Cabinet Division against the total budgeted allocation of Rs1 billion. Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission received Rs18.22 billion out of Rs26.7 billion budgeted allocation for development projects. An amount of Rs742.07 million was released for the Aviation Division, Rs700 million for Climate Change, Rs1.5 billion for Defence Production Division, Rs1.5 billion for development projects of Maritime Affairs Division and Rs2.87 billion have been released for Revenue Division.

The government released Rs17.672 billion (68 percent) including Rs2.2 billion foreign aid for development projects of Azad Jammu and Kashmir against the total budgeted allocation of Rs25.86 billion and Rs12.6 billion (71.88 percent) including Rs932.9 million foreign aid for development project of Gilgit-Baltistan out of Rs17.53 billion budgeted allocation for current fiscal year 2018-19.

The funds are released as per quarterly ceilings; first quarter (July-September) 20 percent, second quarter (October-December) 20 percent, third quarter (January-March) 30 percent and fourth quarter (April-June) 30 percent.
