KP Govt to get Rs120bn annually under hydel power net profit

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Standing Committee on Engery and Power was told on Tuesday the provincial government was expected to get Rs 120 billion annually under the head of hydel power net profit under AGN Qazi formula.

The committee meeting was held here, chaired by Chairman Mohammad Zahoor who informed that at present KP province was getting Rs 24 billion annually under the head of net profit.

Chief Power and Energy Development Organisation (PEDO) Zainullah briefed the committee about all hydro power projects across the province, expenses and production capacity, adding that the present government was converting 8,000 schools, 4000 mosques and 182 basic health unit to solar energy.

He said that solarization of Chief Minister House and Civil Secretariat would also be solarized soon that would reduce load on power production companies.

Chief PEDO also briefed the company about administrative structures of PEDO, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Company and Electric Inspectorate of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The meeting was attended by Adviser to Chief Minister on Energy and Power Himyatullah, MPAs Sardar Khan, Riaz Khan, Waqar Ahmed Khan and Shadad Khan, Secretary Energy and Power and other high officials of PEDO.
