KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port during the last 24 hours, where four ships carrying containers and chemical were allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminals respectively on Thursday, Port sources said Friday.
One more ship scheduled to offload furnace oil also arrived at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 55% at the Port on Friday where total number of six ships namely MV. Safmarine Ngami, APL Chile, MV. Michaelas, MV. Maganari, MV. Harsanadi and MV. Estia are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, canola seed, chemical and diesel oil respectively.
A cargo volume of 1,11,277,804 tonnes, comprising 76,375 tonnes imports and 34,902 tonnes exports was handled, inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 3133 containers (Boxes) at the Port during the last 24 hours.
